IS GANDHI FAMILY A BLESSING OR BURDEN FOR THE CONGRESS ?

Going through the history from 1985 to 1970 Congress was a cadre based party valuing its workers and leaders. But the situation changed rapidly after the 1969 split when Indira Gandhi was ousted from the Congress Party by S. Nijalingappa. Then Congress (I) became a dominant party , emerged victorious thereafter and Indira Gandhi leadership turned into a “personality cult” in the span between Bangladesh Liberation war and emergency. The Congress turned deeply towards dynastic politics when Rajiv Gandhi was made PM. Old Guards Vs Young Turks :      If we will look towards Congress Party history we get that whenever there is a leadership crisis in the Congress, the party looks towards the Gandhi family and this is what happened in the 2019 CWC meeting when Sonia Gandhi was made interim president . Weren’t there other leaders from the Congress other than the Gandhis to lead the party? Yes there were leaders like Bhupesh Baghel (now Chhattisgarh CM), Captai...

Delhi Riot Was Not Spontaneous , It Was Slowly Built Up

Delhi witnessed a lot of hate speeches and firing incidents during and after the elections too . I am quoting some of them here because it is necessary for the people to know the perpetrators behind the large scale violence in the National capital in which 38 people have lost their lives while more than 200 are injured till now. The people who gave hate speeches were the leaders from BJP and AIMIM. None of them is behind the bars except an FIR is lodged on Waris Pathan.           It all started on 15 December 2019 when Delhi police mishandled the Jamia Milia university students strike (against CAA)  by entering the campus and brutally beating the students in which many are seriously injured while one student has lost his eye permanently. After a month the JMCC released a video which clearly showed that the police entered the library and have broke the CCTV cameras. This video is fact checked by Alt ne...

Wondering Why India Ranks As A ‘Flawed Democracy’? Here Are 22 Possible Reasons

What Leads To The Fall Of Democracies?    Recently, the Democracy Index Report was released by the EIU and a countrywide debate started, on the fall of India by 10 odd places i.e from 51 to 41; citing the reason as “Erosion Of Civil Liberties”. The facts tell us numbers and the numbers come from observation. The fallen democracy index is a gentle reminder that the world is watching us. It will be suitable to commence my article by quoting Dr. Ambedkar. “An ideal society should be mobile, should be full of channels for conveying a change taking place in one part to other parts. In an ideal society, there should be many interests consciously communicated and shared. There should be varied and free points of contact with other modes of association. In other words, there should be social endosmosis. This is a fraternity, which is only another name for democracy. Democracy is not merely a form of Government. It is primarily a mode of asso...
