Act Now For Climate Change Or Face Consequences

The choices we made under the name of development are bearing fruits in the form of pandemics, global climate change, population explosion ,rising sea levels, depleting natural resources, energy crisis, etc. We have developed a concrete jungle in which robots are living not human beings. When I was a child I was having a big playground to play. We literally played in soil, dancing ,running, falling, getting injured and what not. Now there are no playgrounds . So the children’s have shortened their playground on a 5 by 6 inch mobile. Today’s generation kids no longer play football , hide n seek in open. These games are a luxury for elite children’s whose parents can afford flats in big enclaves offering playground, gyms, swimming pools, etc. This will be huge setback for the health and immunity of kids in future. Yes they will be intelligent ,ahead of time, open minded, unorthodox but remember they will be just like a microchip installed with artificial intelligence except humanity.
But a ray of hope in this scenario is that children’s are getting aware of climate change and challenging the establishments to concentrate and to do concrete efforts have a sustainable environment for their future. Two of the leading voices for raising awareness about climate change are Greta Thunberg from Sweden and Licypriya Kangujam  from India. We all are pushing our kids into traps . A race trap which have no return. The government all over the worlds should develop stringent policies to contain the global warming to prevent climate change which will have harsh effects on humans if not taken seriously. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has said that “Taken as a whole, the range of published evidence indicates that the net damage costs of climate change are likely to be significant and to increase over time.”
The children will have to suffer the impact of climate change .They will have to face hunger ,pollution malnutrition, droughts , disease pandemics, etc. The ignorance of world leaders will create a humanitarian crisis in near future. The rising temperature have brought heatwave to spread across the globe. Heat waves are causing great damage to health of elderly , sick and children’s. The burning of fuels is one of the prime reason for rising global temperature. Limiting the amount of emission of harmful gases is very crucial today to save the  human life or we will be inhaling CO2 and other harmful gases in one or two decades. The rise in temperature also has another effect on atmosphere i.e rise in sea level. The ice of Arctic and Antarctic are melting fast like never before. Sea water is going to expand due to high warming rate. Most of the island countries like Tuvalu are facing this effect. It is projected that Tuvalu will sink soon due to rising sea level. Introduction of CNG and other sustainable fuels to drive automobiles along with encouraging the use of bicycles worldwide.
Let’s see the work done by various countries in controlling climate change. The Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) is an instrument designed by the German environmental and development organisation Germanwatch e.V. to enhance transparency in international climate politics. On the basis of standardised criteria, the index evaluates and compares the climate protection performance of 57 countries and the European Union (EU) (Status 2020), which are together responsible for more than 90% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.  In it’s report of the year 2020, Sweden has been a top scorer with 4th rank while was among the top 10 countries with 9th rank. No country is ranked as number one as they have not done sufficient work and haven’t taken efficient measures in controlling the damage caused by global warming, GHG’s  and other climate related issues .
Climate Change Performance Index 2020

Some highlights from the IPCC Fifth Assessment report which provides a comprehensive assessment of sea level rise, and its causes, over the past few decades. It also estimates cumulative CO2 emissions since pre-industrial times and provides a CO2 budget for future emissions to limit warming to less than 2°C.  The report found that:
  1. From 1880 to 2012, the average global temperature increased by 0.85°C.
  2. From 1901 to 2010, the global average sea level rose by 19 cm as oceans expanded due to warming and ice melted.
  3. Given current concentrations and ongoing emissions of greenhouse gases, it is likely that by the end of this century global mean temperature will continue to rise above the pre-industrial level. The world’s oceans will warm and ice melt will continue. Average sea level rise is predicted to be 24–30 cm by 2065 and 40–63 cm by 2100 relative to the reference period of 1986–2005. Most aspects of climate change will persist for many centuries, even if emissions are stopped.
In the 2019 Climate Action Summit the Secretary-General said “You have delivered a boost in momentum, cooperation and ambition. But we have a long way to go.” “We need more concrete plans, more ambition from more countries and more businesses. We need all financial institutions, public and private, to choose, once and for all, the green economy.” So it is better to take resolve and start reducing GHG’s emission along with the use of eco friendly technologies and reducing the use of fossil fuels by turning towards alternatives like solar and wind energy. Remember it is our fundamental duty as the residents of earth to give a livable planet for the coming generations. So that they can breathe clean air, drink clean water and make their living a sustainable one.

India’s Security Post 26/11

India’s Security Post 26/11 26 November 2008,it was a cool evening ,everything seemed calm everywhere except the running of passengers to catch the local train-the lifeline of Mumbai. No one was expecting that after sometime all is going to change. A disaster came for which we were caught unprepared partially if not completely. TV sets were tuned into news channels as they started streaming the live coverage of terror attacks on multiple locations in Mumbai-the heart of Indian Economy. A cool-calm evening was turned into heart wrenching nightmare. It took 3 days for the attack to come to an end only when  NSG (NATIONAL SECURITY GAURDS)  in co-operation with the local security apparatus ended the siege by eliminating all the militants except one (Kasab) .The attackers did what they wanted to. That is to terrorize the civilian population, foreign tourists( probably jews) ,foreign investors ,etc. Ajmal kasab's interrogation and the surveillance sy

If you are dreaming of a career in Acting field, you should read about these two aspiring actors...

Recently I interviewed two young actors Yogesh Patil and Teertha Khaklary form rural India who got selected in National School of Drama . They were among the 20 students selected from all over India for Theater in Education Course in National School of Drama (Tripura) . I hope there journey will inspire many youngsters all over India.  Me : Welcome , Yogesh and Teertha to this discussion cum interview. I hope you will enjoy it. Me  : How is your family background Yogesh ? How did your parents reacted when you told them about your interest in acting?  Yogesh : I am from a village called Dambhurni ( Jalgaon ) in Maharashtra . My parents are in farming from years and also work as daily wagers. They expected me to get educated and do a job to help them financially. I mean this is what every parents expects from their child. But when they saw me winning prizes and appreciation for my work in acting field , they never bothered me about my decision to go for acting. I am having freedo

VIEWS OF DR.AMBEDKAR

Dr.Ambedkar -His Writings and Speeches Friends , from today onwards i will be providing some excerpts from the book ' Dr. Babasaheb  Ambedkar -His Writings and Speeches '.                       ON HERO AND LEADERS "Show our critics a great man", he said " and they begin to what they call 'account for him ';not to worship him but take the dimensions of him." Hero worship is certainly not dead in India. Hero worship is demoralising for the devotee and dangerous to the country. I welcome the criticism in so far as it conveys a caution that you must know that your man is really great before you start worshipping him . For in these days, with the press in hand ,it is easy to manufacture great men.                   Even Carylyle who defended the worship of great men warned his readers how : "Multitudes of men have figured in history as great men who were false and selfish."He regretted deeply that " the world&#
